I am 22 yrs old and was diagnosed with IC 2 weeks ago. I started DMSO treatments yesterday. My symptoms have improved since I started my new diet about a month ago. I was just wanting advice from some people who have dealt with IC and wanting to know what to expect in the months ahead. thanks.

:hi: and :welcome: to the ICN family. I'm sorry you have IC but you found a great place for support, understanding, care.
I do hope you do okay with the dmso treatments. Not all patients do well with them. I myself trust the heparin rescue installments best. :( ,but we are all diff. so diff. treatments work for diff. icers. I'm so glad the diet is working well for you. the diet is such a must. once you figure out all your trigger points you may be able to add some foods, drinks back to your diet list.
Here is a very handly site to help you out. its the ICN handbook www.ic-network.com/handbook you may also find some great helpful things in the ICN shop. Jill our founder does great by keeping the site up to date with all the new research, handy things for us icer to use, books, guest speaker to come into our chat room to speak to us all and answer question, she even takes calls to help new icers. She is the best!!!
Hopefully you are already on the right treatments and want have any more problems. We do at times get flares up from stress, foods, drinks. their is a great number of things that can cause flares.
I do wish you the best. Ask all the question you need to. we are here for you.
sending you hugs and prayers
Rhonda

I'd like to add another :welcome: to the IC Network. You have definitely found the right place for support and information. As Rhonda suggested, the Patient Handbook is a very good place to learn more about IC.
Sending warm healing thoughts,
Donna

I dont like the instillations you can read my comments on the instil. tab. For me the pain got incredibly worse but methadone was the best pain me for me including neurontin and hydroxyzine.
