Hi everyone, my name is Selina. Just stumbled on this forum while doing a search and decided to join.

I havent been diagnosed with IC but I do have painful and frequent bladder infections. They started when I was about 10 but were really mild but once I hit 16 they got real bad.

I went to the doctor once for it and she gave me antibiotics..Bactrim. Worked real well but I only took it when i felt symptoms coming on. Now Im just taking some herbal medicine which seems to help. However, with no type of treatment I get bladder infections a lot. They are painful and uncomfortable, and with no health insurance I cant go to a urologist to see if its a structural problem. It stinks but nothing I can do right now.

I take good care of myself, drinking lots of water, eating fruits and veggies, but like i said before without treatment I still get the infection.

Just hoping to meet some new people and find some support here.

Take care! :)

:hi: and :welcome: to the ICN family. some foods and drinks can trigger off systom to make it feel like a uti. If you have IC. most icers don't get real UTI's but yet they feel as they do. I'm one of those small percentage of people who do get real UTI's.
It wouldn't hurt if you take a look at our handbook you can either click on it at the top of the screen or go to www.ic-network.com/handbook their you will find the IC diet. You may see a huge diff. in your systom with the diet alone. Some icer are lucky enough to control their systom with the diet alone. Others must find other treatments. You can read all about those in the handbook too.

I would find a Dr. you know that sp. in icers. they may do other test to rule out all of above before dx you with IC. (I hope and pray you don't have IC.) its comman of Dr's to rule out others things frist.
If any of the Dr's you visit say its in your head. RUN don't just walk away from them pain is real. Their is a reason for all pain and an answer. I do hope your lucky enough to find a Dr. who is understanding and who is willing to help you find the answers you are seeking.

Please keep us updated on how you are we are here for you. We do understand, we do care.

Rhonda
