I had a colonoscopy about 4 years ago and everything was fine. I was 39 and am now 43. I have IC and told I have IBS after the colonscopy although I had to ask the doctor what this was since all he said was I was fine. Most of the times (not to be graphic) my stools are flat. They are also small, ribbon like. Sometimes they even look like mud. Is this commen for IBS? Thanks for your help. Sandy

Yes, very common. It actually sounds like you might be somewhat constipated, which is typical for many people with IBS. But I would still say to talk to your doctor, to confirm that and determine any possible dietary changes to make it easier for you to pass a regular stool.
