If you're just recovering from an infection, it could be that you still have some irritation from the infection. Are you following your diet and avoiding trigger foods and drinks? Drinking plenty of water?

I would guess that your 3&1/2 week post op GYN exam didn't help much either. I am so glad my Dr waited until 6 weeks to do a pelvic on me after my Hysterectomy.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. :( As the others have said, it sounds like recuperation and the follow-up exam may be contributing to your overall discomfort.
I guess all you can keep doing is trying to rest, relax as best as you can and do all the usual self-care activities that will help your bladder calm down. Hopefully it will pass soon. Lots of hugs and prayers! :grouphug:

Has anyone had an adverse experience with a food that you thought was ok, and found out differently? I thought strawberries were ok for me because I have eaten them several times lately with no adverse reactions. This morning I ate a whole bowl of fresh strawberries, and bam! Within an hour or two my bladder was screaming and the frequency started up again. I'm wondering if it was the amount I ate or if it was something else that triggered it.

Ty Texas. How are you doing?

For asilva: Sometimes a food that we can tolerate in small quanitities can "add up" after a while and cause a problem. I can eat a few strawberries if I'm very careful about all other potential triggers, but if I eat very many it's definitely a problem.

I do have to agree that the post op appt. played a major role in your flair..
I know that I flaired for a while after my hysterctomy, and I know Leslie really flaired, she like you had a TAH. I know how much I hurt after, I can't come close to imagining how you two felt. Not to mention you just had the interstim surgey, so having them two back to back then an infection. Then them given you bactrim that you were allergic to in the first place. I wish they would have marked that on your chart... You know I am allegric to a few meds.. I made a card and put what I take and what I am allergic to, I bought that plastic stuff and put it in my wallet next to my license.

I didn't just have the interstim surgery. I had it in January. It has been five months since I had the 2 interstim surgeries. Thanks for your concern and advice Cindy. all my dr.'s and my pharmacy knows not to prescribe anything that has sulfa on it.

I never had a problem UNTIL I had surgery in 2/06 then this all started, first uti, then it went away for a month and a half, then all of sudden 5/1/06 this all just started. I KNOW it was from the surgery. Give the body some time to heal I guess and take the meds and do the diet, that will work, it has to!

Thanks, ICNDonna. That certainly makes sense. I feel much better today and I'm definitely laying off the strawberries for awhile (although I bought a huge container of them the other day at Whole Foods and they were yummy!) It's so hard with all this good fruit out there right now-makes you just want to try everything!
