Hi all,
After a year, I finally got diagnosed with IC. He didn't even need to do any tests (besides urinalysis) because he specializes in it and knew immediately that I had what I suspected.
However, he said something about the average time it takes for someone to be diagnosed is four years, and by this time their uterus is dissolved.
Did he mean to say uterus? I havent read anything about the uterus being related to IC. I'm wondering if he meant to say bladder instead, although I read somewhere that many people with IC have another condition that affects the uterus, and maybe that's what he meant.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Rosa

I also have never heard of that before. Many women with IC have successful pregnancies. Perhaps he was speaking about endometriosis, which coexists in some women with IC?

I am guessing that is what he meant, because I read that about 70% of women with IC have endometriosis as well. Either that or he meant to say bladder instead of uterus.

Never heard that about the utu. Although he is right about the time it takes some to get a diagnoses. For me it took 5 yrs. Like rosamarie alot of women with IC do tend to have endometriosis also. Maybe Babs or Sandy will see this and know more they are nurses. I am sure there are other nurses here to, but dont know their names...
