I need an answer now about Urethera Dilation

I'm having a Urethera Dilation in the morning. Does this hurt??
I was told today that my urethera was 22, what ever that means! and a normal one is 30 so my uro is going to dilate me!

I have had two dilations. They are not fun but definately relieve my urethral pain! If you have a driver take some pain meds. before hand, also ask the doctor to use lidocaine. This helps a lot. Afterward I take an ice pack or one of those instant cold packs and put it down there. This really helps things to be less sore afterward! Hope all goes well for you!

Along with what Romans said, I would also take some Pyridium. When I had this done in the late 80s, I remember after I got home and urinated it hurt so much that I screamed bloody murder! They gave me some pyridium when I left, but it wasn't enough time for it to work. I would take it right before the appt. to give it time to work. The dialation itself did not hurt because they numbed me.

I had three dialations done, they are uncomfortable while being done and extremely painful after your first urination, make sure you are numbed up with pyridium pills beforehand, they might try and put a pyridum suppositorie in your urethra after the fact but you will feel like you have to pee after just from them messing around in there, and then pee out most of the suppositorie, I have "urethral syndrome" and found out that dialations were the worst thing I could've done for myself, everyone esle I've talked to says the same thing and my P.T. says that this is what urologists do when they can't figure anything out, I do not suggest it.

Up Date On My Urethra Dilation.
First off It did hurt but not as bad as I thought. After, I felt like I needed to "P" all day long and it hurt to "p". Felt like my pain was worse.
Second day: My pain was gone. Felt normal again. Happy!! :) Hoping this is the answer!!:pray:
On the eight day I notice a tingling starting.
nineth day. A mild flare starting. :(
Tenth Day: In full Flare.
This is the 11th day. have mild flare.
I was so hopefull. I have another Dilation on the 20th of June.
I will see what happens this time. I'm still a Tad hopefull
