Bowel problems

I was diagnosed with endometriosis last year and IC and IBS about 4 months ago. It seems like when I have an IC flare up I get really bad diarreha and lower back pain too. Does anyone else get that or could there be something else wrong with me?

Since our lower organs and the pelvic floor muscles are in such close proximity, anytime we flare in one area, it may affect another. This is a pretty common occurrence for IC patients with multiple pelvic illnesses.

Please check with your healthcare provider before trying any new form of treatment, including self-help techniques.

A lot of people with IC also have irritable bowel syndrome, which can cause either diarrhea or constipation or both. It's not serious and doesn't lead to cancer or anything like that. Increasing fiber intake can help, as can keeping anxiety under control.

Some drugs also can affect the digestive system, especially antidepressants.

You might want to ask your doc about it if the problem continues. Good luck!
