anyoneles have this? My Np briefly described this as she was in a rush. She said it is an inflamation of the bladder neck near the urethra. Put me on doxy.
i have lyme so i suspect that is the cause.....it hurts A LOT sice the hydro/cyst.
do any of your urologists go over the pictures with you.

Actually the condition is called pseudomembranous trigonitis. It is an inflammation of the bladder trigone -- a triangular area of the bladder base where the ureters enter from the kidneys at the back, and the urethral opening at the front. A pseudomembrane (false) forms over the mucosa causing inflammation. It is usually caused by a bacterial infection making it necessary to be treated with antibiotics.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

do you know why this wouldnt be able to be cultured in a urine sample if it is bacterial?
I know lyme cannot be cultured with the standard urine sample...so it maybe the lyme bacteria for me.
could they do a culture from the urethra to find the bacteria causing this?
Im glad i have proof im not nutz.....but im worried about this....and its painful and even more inflamed since the Hydro/cysto and being cathed overnight.
thanks all for your help.

I have not had a cysto/hydro, but I suspect that is what I have as well. I feel constant irritation in the bladder neck/base of my bladder that feels as if it is my urethra, but high up. I am nursing my daughter but plan to do 2 weeks of Doxy when I finish nursing & hope that helps. You are probably very irritated from the procedure & hopefully it will calm down in a few days. Are you taking Urelle or some other urinary analgesic? That should help.
Let me know if the DOxy helps you.
Hope you feel better soon!

Does anyone know if yeast could cause this?

I have wondered about this myself. For awhile my urine was cloudy all the time. I got my gyno to prescribe a Diflican pill & my urine cleared up! However, the irrritation remained.

ps any relief with the Doxy yet?????

My lyme dr wants me to stay on the cipro for another week...to see what happens with my symptoms. He doesnt want me to go on the doxy since im already on the cipro.
we suspect lyme is causing this.......but ive noticed more iritation with the abx, so i wonder if it is yeast.
im going to try the azo yeast......the Azo standdard helps my bladder , so im hoping this will help the yeast.
My yeast is resistant to diflucan when i have it.......i really think i need months of antifungals for this to heal.
