Hello All,
I just came back from my uro's and some of you know that he told me he would allow me to start the rescue instillations at home if I conducted the research and brought it to him!!!!
Well, last week was a session on learning to cath, went well! Today I took all the info and was quite ready to get my scripts, NOW he informs me that he has to take the info into his board meeting and see what the board thinks and he'll let me know when that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cussing: :headbang:
Has this happened to any of you? I think basically he is afraid of getting sued if I do something wrong!
thanks for listening!:grouphug:

I agree I've never heard of this either. Plus if he was going to do this then he should had told you this up front!
I was the very frist patient in my uro's office to do three installments of heparin at home a day.
(uro's RN gave me this reseach.) After i read it she ask him for me if i could get the green light. well since nothing else was working plus he seen the research he agreed and wrote out the RX's so I could have enough for three a day as needed.
I do understand Dr's getting scared and all, but I also believe if there an IC Dr. they need to stay updated as much as poss. on treatments for ICER'S.
I do pray he hurrys alone so you can get these treatment at home for you.
Are you going to be doing them once a week at home?
or
are you going to be doing them once a day? or more? or has he even thought about what he thinks is best for you yet? remember you are the patient and you pay him so there for you have every right to help him decide on what is best to help you.
Hopefully he will do the research tonight, call you tomorrow to tell you he is going to call the meds in for you.
Oh.
if you haven't done so already and if you know what he will be using in your installments. I would call around to make sure that the drug store you wish to use can get these meds in for you if they haven't already gotten them on the selves.
sending you hugs and prayers
Rhonda

Hi guys, Thanks for listening to me!
I'm still very frustrated about this! I'm not sure what happened between last week and yesterday, but he sure changed his mind REAL fast.:headbang:
He was going to let me do them 3-4 times a week is what we had discussed. He did say he spent 3 hours on line conducting research. My uro is getting to an age of retirement and his thoughts are probably "why rock the boat now" I think some drs just do not want to go that extra mile. I understand liability issues, but wouldn't that be the same as if I had a reaction or I did something wrong by taking another prescription?:dizzy:
Thanks again Guys. Sending huge hugs:grouphug:

Of course I'm only guessing here, but I would think so...
Maybe when he did his research he didn't find the same answers as you did. (he may have some type of medical page he can look at to find his answers?) Just a thought.
then again he may have not took the time at all to find the answers or wasn't able to find the answers. This may be also another reason he may want to ask other Dr's. Not sure? He may need to make sure he has the right installment for you to make sure its safe to do it at home that many times a week.
Honestly he should had been more clear with you in his answers. He should had said what he done, what he found, what he didn't find, what question he still needed answered etc..
Good Luck hon..... I know you want to get these under way soon so you can start feeling better, I don't blame you!
keep calling his office to see if he has found his answers he needs to give you the green light

Sorry, I don't totally understand this one either.., I too was the first person to start home instills at my URO's office. He did not let me do them at home until we had done them at the office for almost a year. I am now only supposed to do them every 4-5 days. If I am bad I have called and he allowed it more often. One thing that helped was taking in Moldwin's book and the specific instill brews from many here and also the one's on the ICA form the leading iC doctors.
Rhonda is right though make sure you can get all the meds & needed supplies ahead of time!
I hope he decides to let you do them!
Shelly
