I have a question!

Does anyone here have Hunner's ulcers on there bladder? If so please tell me because I was reading an article and it said, "Hunner's ulcers are present in 10 percent of patients with IC. " The article was almost a year old (I don't know if that makes a difference) but I thought more "ICers" had Hunner's ulcers.

I have had hunner uclers since I was dx. back in 2000. I've also had them removed for the pass two or three years every six months, but not all icer has hunners. Not all icers with hunners has to have them surgeryal removed either. They respond to other IC treatments.
also some of the other people with hunners isn't as bad as mine. My grow deep inside the bladder wall and on the out side of the bladder wall they start to push up against nerves which has almost landed me bedridden until they have been removed.
I do know their is a few more on the boards with hunners. Hopefully they will reply so you know what they do to treat theres.

I was diagnosed with IC with Hunners Ulcers in June 05. My Uro lasered the Hunners Ulcers off during my Cysto/Hydro. This seemed to help with the pain for about 5 months.

I have been in alot of pain since December and have just started having rescue instills. I have only had 4 instills so far. My last rescue instill has really helped me and I have had 5 really good days this past week.

Like Rhonda said everyone is different some people have Hunners Ulcers and are in alot of pain and others do not have that much pain.

I also was diagnosed with Hunner's ulcers and IC in 2000. The uro fulgurated them off during the hydro/cysto.
Since than, I've been taking Elmiron so I haven’t had as many of them and they're not as bad as the first time. When they start to become intolerable I just have them fulgurated again.

There are probably a lot more people who have them but have not posted online about it. I've only encountered less than 10 people who said they had them, online, but I imagine there are more.
Oh, and the statistics on other sites list it between 5-10 percent, so, it would not be that many people.
