Help! I have question!:help: :hmm:
Ok. This may seem like an odd question but is it normal for and "ICer's" bladder to expand while she/he is in a flare?
(P. S. Is this thread in the correct section? If it is not or if there is a more suitable section, please tell me!)

Its not an odd question, but, what do you mean expand? An Ic'ers bladder haslittle to no elasticity.. thats mostly why there is the frequency and urgency.. My bladder holds 200 cc's awake it will not expand any more.
I hope this helps you.

Are you talking about what we call "IC Belly"? That is when your stomach area seems to swell. If that is it, then yes, there are many of us who experience this.
Yes, SharonA, that is what I am talking about. I had never had an "IC Belly" before and I was concerned. Thank you, SharonA and tigger_gal for your help!

I don't understand exactly what you are asking. Do you mean expand, like the bladder filling with urine in it when you are flaring? Oh boy, I could only wish for mine to expand, and actually hold more urine.

I know what your talking about the "IC belly" the 6 months pregnant look! LOL My stomach will swell like this also, sometimes my stomach will be so swelled that pants that would normally slide down on me "too loose" will stay up and are too tight when I have the IC belly. I use my heating pad and it seems to help reduce the swelling.

i work out like crazy (when i feel good without overdoing it!!!) lifting a barbell (only 15 lbs, but that's enough!). i lift between 3-4 times a week and my stomach ALWAYS looks like i'm 3-5 mos pregnant!!!! i do 90 reps. I do other machines for my stomach as well.
Also, no matter how many sit-ups i do (100) (with a weight held to my chest), i can't get my stomach down. :(
been at it for months and months, but came down with this ic last fall.

I Hate It When My Belly Swells Up Like That!! It Is So Miserable!
But A Heating Pad And Laying Down For A While Usualy Help. I Also Use Lidocane Patches Sometimes. I Don't Know If This Really Helps But It Seems To.

Thank you everyone! I was scared that I was the only one whose belly swells up! I wasn't sure if that was normal. I am going to try the heating pad tecnique. Thanks again!
