Hi Everyone,
I have been in the worst flare on and off--mostly on, for about 6 months. I actually got up to 120 mgs. of oxycontin 3X a day and that did not touch my pain! I can't have any instills b/c of accidental poisoning with DMSO but tried antibiotics, diflucan brioski EVERYTHING! I tried cymbalta and had major bad reactions to it. I talked to my doctor about cytotec and I have built up to 200mcgs. 4x a day and it has been amazing! My pain is Zero!!!!!!!!!!!! I am trying to wean slowly of the pain meds--I want to be careful not to go to fast b/c I don't want to take a chance of messing anything up! I am so strict with my diet! I have not felt this good-this happy--OK I can't remember feeling this good! I hope others have good results! Sending out good thoughts--Malone

Wow, that's great! I am really getting curious about this Cytotec stuff. Why aren't we seeing more about it in the literature? Or, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough or in the right places. What is it about Cytotec that makes it so effective? Your pain must have been quite challenging to be on that dose of pain med and still not be helped, but it sounds like you found something to work for you! As someone who also has problems with lots of meds, I understand what you've been through. Please let us know how you do, okay?

It sounds like the flare I was in for almost one year. It's truly remarkable that cytotec was able to alleviate your pain better than 120mgs of Oxycontin. I didn't think that dose of Oxycontin was available. I,m so happy you finally got relief from your horrible flare. Just wondering how long you were on it before your pain subsided?

Hi! I was on Cytotec only a few days before I noticed some relief. After a week, there was more! I have been on it for close to three weeks now and even with a yeast infection (which made me flare till diflucan set in) I was able to go back to a pain free life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't begin to tell you how great this feels! When I cut back on my pain meds to quickly it irritates everything, but then I just go slower and it is great! Thanks for all the support and if anyone would like further info just let me know--Malone

I find it awesome cytotec has helped some so much to some. We must have a different IC. After 2 1/2 months a barely notice a difference. Why do you think cytotec has helped so much to those it has? Is it indicative of a hormonal imbalance or what?

Hi, PV - I don't think it's an hormonal imbalance, since Cytotec doesn't affect the hormones at all. All it does is encourage the stomach, bowel and bladder to produce more mucous with prostaglandins....I'm not sure why it works for some and not for others...and I don't have a clue as to why it stopped working for me.....big mystery. But I'm very glad it's helped at least a couple of people.
Blessings,
Lori

Is this medication orally taken or is it strictly an instill?

I have had IC for about 7 years and have felt good off and on. I am now back to square one. I am starting heparin instills this week. Have been taking Vicodin but it doesn't seem to help. I was thinking of trying Cysto as recommended by the company. Should I wait and give the heparin a chance before starting something else - any ideas???? Love to all.

HI MALONE,
YOUR MESSAGE CONCERNING CYTOTEC IS SO UPLIFTING!!! CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT DOSE YOU STARTED ON. I HAVE JUST FAXED MY URO ABOUT THE DRUG WITH A STUDY MENTIONED HERE ALSO. I LOOKED IN MY RX BOOK AND THE SIDE EFFECTS APPEAR TO BE MINIMAL. HAVE YOU HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT? THANKS FOR ANY INFO YOU CAN OFFER BEFORE I HOPEFULLY HEAR BACK FROM MY DOCTOR.
