I had a Tah a week ago today and I found that I am bruised all long the incision site and it is painful. Do you have any suggestions how to help the pain?. My thumb also feels like I have shocks going through it. I all in all believe the hysto was right for me the pelvic pain I had is gone. All I am dealing with is surgery pain.

Yes i was bruised bad, and used ice packs to treat it. the shock I coudln't tell you. I ended up with nerve damage from mythighs to my kneecap and around the side from retractors that has never went away only gotten worse.

The bruising is normal after surgery. Just use ice packs, just as you would for any other bruise or injury.

Rest, rest, rest. And be very certain you don't do any lifting. It's best that you not do lots of bending over. You do need to be up and walking around, but nothing strenuous for a bit.
