(I live in a small town) anyway I need to find a good doctor that can treat my pain.. I have had I.C. for two years now and I am still searching for someone who knows what they are doing as far as treatment options. If anyone could help me or maybe if I could talk to someone that lives close by it would be great! thanks a lot!!

thanks for answering. I live in the suburbs of Memphis,TN in Cordova, TN. Are you between Nashville and Memphis or on the other side? (or north or south of Nashv. Memphis has some good I.C. doctors. My husband works in Portland TN just north of Nashville during the week. I would guess Nashville has some good urologists also. Glad to see there are a number of Tenneseans posting to the boards.

I live in between Nashville and Knoxville.. but I am more thank willing to travel to Memphis for a good doctor. I found a pain doctor in Nashville that I was going to but I really need to find a good Urologist that will treat my pain (if I can) thank you for responding to my message. Before I got on here I thought I was the only one in TN with this! Its great to know how much everyone supports each other on here!! thank so much

I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee and I don't know a soul who has IC. I'm having a hard time finding a Dr. who will treat my IC flare ups that always come right before my period. yes I know exactly how you feel. When I first got diagnosed, I asked my urologist for something to control the extreme pain I was feeling, and she told me that she wasnt going to support a drug addict! I am twenty years old and I have never done anything I dont even drink. It made me realize what a long road I had in front of me. Doctors can make you really feel like YOUR the one with the problem.
I am sorry I cant help you with finding a doctor I am still looking for a good one that takes my insurance.

So happy to see the postings from all over Tn. I am in the suburbs of Memphis. We have lived in the Memphis area since '95. From what I can see, there are a bunch of us in Tn. and the surrounding areas.

tt1gw...We lived in Cleveland, Tn for about 8 years. Beautiful part of the state.

The uro who I went running to one year ago this month when I first came down with IC symptoms was Dr. Ricky Smith in Cordova. I went to him several times plus he did the hydro with DMSO. I have not had to see a uro since. I really liked him because he was blunt and told me like it is. I do not respond well to "candy coating" the truth. My PCP is now treating me and so far, so good.

It's great to hear from so many Tennesseans. Do you have or know of a doctor in Memphis who "specializes in I.C.". My doctor is good, but I think one who specialized in I.C. would be even more up to date on the latest treatment options, etc.

I am trying to find a good doctor ANYWHERE in TN.. I heard of a doctor Brookhof or maybe Brookhoof. He is in memphis, anyway I heard that he specializes in IC has anyone heard of him or even went to see him? I would like to know before I make an appointment.. Thanks!
