I opened one of the cystoprotek capsules out of curiosity as I was struck by how thick and hard the outer shell is... It is really gross inside and I accidently got some of it in my mouth (I had broken it open with my teeth.) Anyway it is like mustard in there and I was wondering if anybody else has opened a capsule and found it to look like that? I just thought it was so odd that it isn't a powder inside, but rather a yellowish liquid like content.
Also, I started it a few days ago, for those of you had have found it helped, how long did it take until you saw results. I am taking 2 caps 3times per day.
The yellowish color is most likely caused by the olive oil in the product. I accidentally stepped on a capsule that had fallen on the floor and found out what the contents looked like.
I've taken the product for 4 years and it's worked fabulously for me. I've spoken to many patients that say it started working for them within two weeks to 4 months; it depends on the patient.
The recommended dose is 2 capsules, three times per day for the first three months; then a maintenance dose of 2 capsules, twice a day. If you have any questions you can check out their website at www.algonot.com and/or check with your healthcare provider.

How funny ... you know it never occurred to me to look inside one of those capsules before. I wonder why not - what does that say about me? LOL Oh well, guess now I don't have to, huh?
I have been taking Cystoprotek since January. As I've posted on here before, I consider it the best thing I've tried yet. I noticed results within a couple months. And now I have no urgency & my frequency is way down. Right now it is the only thing I take for IC on a regular basis - I'm able to not take any prescription drugs except for occasional something for pain, as I still get pain once in awhile on my left side. I'm not sure why, but no dr has been able to explain where or why I get that pain.
Good luck & I hope you have as good results as I have with it!
