Help PLEASE! Burning burning.

I have been suffering on and off for months , they think its bladder infection, but not. I was diagnosed with IC years ago, it went into remission for so long, but I think its back. BUT my question is.........

What is safe to take to calm the burning feeling on a regular basis. Uristat helps me, but it says only for 2 days! WHAT!? The dr. office is giving me something called proced ec but only for a couple days until I go again MON. for a urine culture. Sometimes pyridium helps. What really helps and is it okay to take more than a couple days?

I have taken pyridium for up to a couple of weeks before. One thing that usually helps me out of a flare is plain old Tums --- and they are also a good source of calcium.

I have the same burning/tingling urethral problem and my doctor gave me Urelle for this because it can be taken on a long term basis. That is my biggest complaint of IC and my doctor said that drugs like Urelle are sort of the only option right now for that. I couldn't tolerate Elavil. Urelle turns your urine blue, but that doesn't bother me as long as I feel good! Feel better soon!
