Yesterday our son graduated from college, a dual major in studio art, and art education. My husband & I went down to U of I (Moscow) to watch the graduation ceremony, which was very nice. I took lots of pictures of course!

We're very proud of him! It's been a long five years, -for him, as well as us!
Whoo-hoo,...hubby & I are free at last!

Terrific, VickyB, you must be so proud of his accomplishment. I remember when I graduated from high school I got a brand new piece of luggage. Hint hint. Actually, I loved it, I always had a thing for luggage when I was a kid (I think a lot of kids do). Sorry for the rambling. I'm just excited for the new cash that will be flowing into your household now that it's not going for tuition, room and board! We keep going to grad school again and again, that by the time we finish we'll have to start paying for my oldest daughter's college tuition. Really. We just love college!

Congrats

Yes, we're pretty excited about that extra money too! Everytime my hubby would write that check to the university he'd say, "There's my boat"! Danial has always been a good kid though, worked hard both at school and at home, so we consider it money well spent.

As far as Danial's plans go, he'd planned to pursue his masters degree this fall but missed the application deadline. (Pretty sure he inherited that from me!:headbang: I talked him into applying for an art show this summer that I was intending to do. He did,..and I missed the deadline to apply!) The district Danial did his student teaching at has asked him to substitute teach next fall, so he's going to give that a try. They say they can keep him busy. Then he intends to go back for his Masters the following year. Ultimately, he'd like to teach at the college level.

I just hope he continues to paint, now that he's no longer under the gun to produce!

Leslie, no matter how grown-up he is,...he's always going to be my "baby"! -He knows it!
