View Full Version : sitting as trigger
I spend all day these past few weeks wondering when I am going to sit wrong or make a mistake coming too close with toilet paper and spend the rest of the day burning. These mechanical things seem to be the big triggers. I ordered an IC pillow. It also waxes and wanes through the day, like evenings are suddenly terrible. Everthing feels like 'careful' don't move the wrong way!

Sometimes I do better sitting in a reclyned possition....a normal pillow helps if youd on't have an IC one yet. heat and cold and help relax those muscles from the movement tension too...as can moisture.
Are you on any medications?
What specifically is terrible about evenings? Can't sleep? frequency? urgency? Pain?
Sorry for all the questions but I want to help! :grouphug: We are here for you!!

Sitting has always made my burning urethra worse. It gets better when I'm on vacation, because then I'm not stuck behind my desk! But I have kind of a weird case of IC. My doc thinks it's mostly a nerve problem. Cranky nerves going into the bladder (pudendal) might make the bladder cranky.
Nortriptyline helps, but it also makes me gain weight like crazy. So now I'm just kind of waiting and seeing.

it is definitely bad at night and from sitting, like aggravated from moving around all day. My doc gave me doxepin which helped A LOT. I know this is an inflammation maybe dermatological from new underwear (colored which I didn't wash first) but I still am hving a CAT scan tonight. Don't know what they see on those things - tumors?

Just a question...what does "coming too close with toilet paper" mean? I have figured out that I cannot use Cottonelle.
I just mean if I wipe and touch the vaginal tissue I can be in pain for long periods. I use a water bottle instead.
