A Question for all who can help PLEASE

Can IC cause abnormal menstration? The reason I ask is because on April 12th or so I went to the emergency room 7 days late for my cycle and having horrible pelvic pain. They checked my urine and blood and said it was all normal and sent me home. The very next day I was in double the pain and went to my PCP. She checked my urine and I had blood, white blood cells, and keetones(?), she put me on antibiotics and told me my cycle was probably late because of the stress on my body due to the infection(Cipro for 10 day). First of all I don't understand how from one night I can go from having absolutely nothing in my urine to having all those other things!! Anyways, two and a half weeks later I had the same pain again in my bladder and radiating up my sides. I went to care now and they checked my urine. That time I had hemolized blood in my urine and the doc told me that I may have a kidney stone. She told me that If my pain gets worse to go to the ER immediately. The next day I was in so much pail that I couldn't even walk so I went. They did blood work, a ct-scan, urine cultures, a pelvic ultrasound and everything was normal. Thats when I made an appt. w/ a uro. I started my period again the 11th and Im off already. My cycles are usually 7-8 days and regular to the hour!! Can anyone explain any of this. I don't know if IC can directly *initiate* changes in your period, per say......but I do believe that medications (Elmiron, elavil, other meds) can! As well as age. I know my periods changed dramatically in my 30's a few years back when I quit the pill and went to my natural God given hormones.'

I think the IC diet could also effect it.....if you have cut back on calories dramatically, that can surely delay your period.

I'm 36 now....but my period changed quite a bit around 31-32, and has even gotten a little wierder the last few years with occasional bleeding in between cycles and after sex. My gyn, doesn't seem to think it is all that big of a deal, but I find it highly annoying!

My bladder DOES act up quite a bit during my period, nothing seems to stop the flares, not diet, not pain pills......nothing! :headbang:

Did you recently start a new med? drop BC? or change your diet?
