I lost my bathroom buddy. :( My cat Miss Mittens passed away today. She died very peacefully at home. It was not unexpected as she was old and she had been getting weaker and weaker. But it still hurt. I am glad that she was a part of my life for 14 years. She brought be tremendous joy and I will miss her.

I am so sorry you lost your buddy. It is so hard to lose a pet that you have had for so long. I have a few cats that are old and I know that sometime soon they will pass too. I hate it! They are part of the family!

Oh my goodness, I am SO very sorry! I know how much our bathroom kitties can mean to us (mine follows me in EVERY time, got her tail and head bumped by the door more than once), I am so sorry for your loss. I was just worrying myself over mine today, she's got be 19-20 (she was my step-cat - now she's just mine - and I never did really know when she was born, the ex thinks '87) and I was almost in tears on the way to work wondering what I will ever do without her...

I so understand what you are going through. Sending big warm-fuzzy hugs to you...

I am so sorry. My two kitties have been my best friends and have helped me keep my sanity during my years of IC. I know I will cry for a long time when they pass away.

Blessings,
Lori

I am so sorry for your loss!! :grouphug: I lost my baby girl five years ago this July and I still miss her terribly. Pets are so important when you have a chronic illness. They don't judge, they just love. :kissing:

So sorry to read about your loss. Pets live far too short lives.

I'm so sorry you lost your kitty. I have three kitties, and they bring me a lot of joy. I've lost many pets over the years, and it is always very hard.

Thanks again for all of the kind comments.

It's funny I posted some song lyrics and a rest in peace message in a blog that is also part of a social networking website. Out of all of my "friends" some who have known me and my cat for many years I only got 2 comments and one of them was from my room-mate.

Yet I come here where I have never actually met the people I am conversing with and I receive many comments all very kind, compassionate and caring. I wish there was some way to truely express how much I really do appreciate it. All the comments helped a lot. It is very nice to know that others really understand and relate to my reality that she wasn't "just a pet" she was my friend and I miss her.

I know how you feel, my kitties have all been my "kids", they are such a huge part of our lives, that there is a huge hole when they are gone. When I lost my calico last year, (I still have her sister Missy with me though! ;) ) the house just seemed so - quiet. It was very weird and sad.

Sending you more hugs!!!!

Thankfully I still have my other cat Arnold. But the house is definitely a lot quieter. Miss Mittens was the vocal one and she was the one that followed me into the bathroom everytime. When my ic was at it's worst I could go every 15 or 20 minutes and every time she followed me in there. Odd thing is, believe it or not Arnold has been joining me in the bathroom lately. I have no logical explaination for his sudden intrest in my bathroom comings and goings. Maybe somehow someway he thinks he should since she's not here to. I don't really know.

By the way on good side I have been going a lot less. My ic seems to be getting better. Over the last few weeks my symptoms have lessened considerably. I think the diet and the elmiron is starting to really work. :woohoo:

I am glad to hear it seems your meds and diet are finally starting to give you some relief!!

It's funny how they change roles...my Missy was the fussy eater, no people food at all. But my Cali wasn't - she loved junk food, she'd sneak licks off your plate when she could or beg for a few licks out of the icecream bowl. Well, now Missy has picked up those habits!! Hubby and I will teasingly call her "Cali" as that is so not Missy!!!

Hugs!!

I'm so sorry for your loss! I have a 12 year old dog, she sleeps at the foot of our bed, and in the morning, when I get up to get ready for work, by the time I get out of the shower, she is right in front of it as I step out!! and she follows me from there on. Don't know what we will do without her! Again sorry! I know you will miss her terribly!:grouphug:
