I just got back from the er . These last few days my pelvic pain has gotten worse and I couldn't get a hold of my gyn. I went to the er for a fever of 102 and chills, severe pelvic pain and pelvic pressure and naseua and vomiting. It looks like my pid hasn't gone away, I test postitive for it . the dr. says since I have been treated for pid three times already she thinks it did some damage to my pelvic organs. She gave me eyrthymyocin and a shot of antibotic . I am home was directed to rest as much as possible. I am to contact my dr. tommorrow. I am wondering who I should call my fp or the gyn that is unavailable right now.

I would sure call the GYN as well, they may ant to reschedule your surgery until they see that the antibiotic works. Fever's that high they usually will reschedule a few days after you have completed antibiotics to make sure your are healthy enough.

I called the gyno's office and they told me there is nothing they can do for me . I already was given antibotics from the er.

I heard back from the managed care coordinator. My status through the the insurance just has moved up to a emergency case . I will have an answer on friday hopefully if not they will have to reschedule my surgery.

Oh, Kim. I'm sooo sorry to hear that you had another trip to the ER! I hope that your fever & chills have gone down by now. I also pray for you that this doesn't interfere with your upcoming surgery. That would be terrible to have it postponed! Hopefully you'll find out if it's been approved or not real soon! Geesh! You've waited so long! You're scheduled to have it only 5 days from now, right? I would be very nervous not knowing this close to the date. What kind of damage to your pelvic organs did the doctor talk to you about? Yikes! I don't know how you're holding up through all of this, dear! Lots of hugs & prayers coming your way!

Kim, I'm sorry about all of this. I hope the antibiotics work quickly. It sounds like the ER treated you better this time than other times. I am glad at least that the insurance people recognize the urgency of your case. I hope you will be able to go through with the surgery and that it will help you after all the pain you've known.

Geesh! I'm so sorry you've got THIS to deal with too!
It's just the day after tomorrow now....hopefully it will go quickly and the antibiotics will kick in soon!! Do you do any yoga or deep breathing? It would probably help to easy your anxiety some....I've found that even if I can't move cause I'm in pain, just doing some deep breathing exercises helps me tremendously!!
I hope you get some relief soon! Take Care.

Geez! I'd think your GYN's office would take more of an interest in your current situation!
I'm sorry you're having to go through this! You'd mentioned you still have the nausea & vomiting, has your fever come down at all?

I imagine you're getting pretty tired of it by now! Between the fever and vomiting you're having to watch out for dehydration too, eh?
I hope you are able to rest and that you'll see an end to this soon!

Was wondering if you got approval for your surgery since it is already Thursday? I am sorry the PID is flaring up, but you know, it could very well delay your surgery. Doctors will rarely operate with an infection present. They will usually as Leslie said, wait for an antibiotic. I have had to delay 2 surgeries due to infection.
Hugs,
Barb :grouphug:
