View Full Version : Bladder Removal
About eleven years ago I had my fourth cesarean and my bladder was torn quite substantially. Could this have started my IC? I am also due to have my bladder removed and as I have a lot of scar tissue, wonder if this might complicate things?

Hopefully you'll hear from some of our members who have had their bladders removed. Usually this option is not even considered unless they already have severe problems. I hope it works for you so you will feel better. There are several different ways they can do urostomies; do you know which you will have?
Sending warm hugs,
Donna

Welcome to the boards, Chez! I had my bladder out over 20 years ago, and have had other surgeries as well. I do have lots of scar tissue. For me it means having the operations go a little bit longer so they get rid of the adhesions(scar tissue), but it also depends on where the scar tissue is, if it will interfere with your surgery. This is a good question for your surgeon.I would be more that happy to answe all that I can. I have had both the ileal conduit as well as the internal pouch. I now have the internal pouch and it is over 13 years old. I love it. Looking forward to seeing more of you! Judith
