bleeding with flares?

:help: ok im having a lot more flares now and they are becoming more severe. I miss so much school and i am takin to the ER alot more now but the worst thing is when i have a really bad flare i bleed and it hurts soooo bad i cant even take it. But i cant seem to find anything about bleeding from flares anywhere. Please tell me this is normal and im not going nuts... :loco:

It is not uncommon to bleed with IC. If this is a new symptom you should discuss it with your doctor. I recommend getting tested for Infection. Do you have hunners ulcers? Sometimes if you have hunners ulcers you can be more vulverable to bleeding when you flare.

I recommend some ice....cold can slow bleeding and helps with pain for a lot of us so it may help a bit.

First you need to make sure that you don't have an infection. I recently posted about seeing blood in my urine as well. After seeing the responses and that apparently most IC patients can not SEE the blood in their urine, I went to the urologist. He thought that I might have endometriosis inside my bladder and did another cysto and an IVP to verify his theory. He did not find any endometriosis or any particular reason for the blood. At this point he has given up. I am assuming that this is "normal" for my IC. Sorry to go on and on about my experience! I think you really need to see a urologist. I hope that you can get some relief and help!
