I had a great weekend!

Friday I went down to my sisters house to pick up my niece Kyrsten. She is 18 months old and so adorable! She has bright red hair and big blue eyes. She fell asleep on the way home and slept thru the night even though I didnt. I was so afraid she would wake up and I wouldnt hear her. So I was up about every hour :)

The next morning, my fiance Jerry was up pretty early. I think then I was finally able to sleep a little more soundly. When I woke up she was playing with the cats. Jerry had gotten her some juice and they had cereal for breakfast. For the rest of the morning, we played with the cats.

Then we packed up and headed to Champaign. We went to a few stores to run some errands. Kyrsten held my hand or stayed close to me the whole time. She didnt even try to run off.

Then we headed to the local Girls and Boys club Duck Race. Its a local charity even where they dump rubber duckies into a lake. You buy a duck and if your duck is one of the first few to cross the line, you win a prize. They have vendors and its just a fun family event. It was a beautiful day. Not too hot or cold and the sun was shining. Again, Kyrsten was the perfect baby. Unfortunatly that night, we had to take her home.

The next morning Jerry had breakfast cooking when I woke up. We ate outside on our new patio set that we bought the night before. Then we spent all day outside doing yard work.

That night, we went to the drive in. Theres one just a few blocks from home. We laid in the back of his VW and watched RV. Very good movie!

It was just a perfect weekend. Kyrsten was fun. The duck race was fun. I talked to my sister yesterday, and she said that all Kyrsten could say all day was "duck". How cute! And Jerry and I had fun together! Now Im off to work in an hour, and Im just really thankful for having such a great weekend.

Hope yall had a great one too!

Yeah you for having an awesome weekend! It really is important to celebrate "good" days isn't it? I am really happy for you, sounds like you and Jerry had a blast with your niece.
By the way, I am totally jealous that you got to see RV. That is my next movie night!
