Hi friends:

I hope someone can help.

I'm 34 years old, no children yet. Only health problem is my bladder problem Interstitial Cystitis. I have pretty mild IC.....

3 weeks ago I began to experience these weird symptoms I've never had before.

1st WEEK: Day that I ended my period I began to get really bad cramps like I was going to start my period again.........and then a dull ache in lower back, it was really strange...I felt like I was going to begin my period again

2nd WEEK: I still had the dull dull ache in stomach like I was going to begin my period and a dull ache in back...it was Off and ON.....not every day that week but off and on

3rd WEEK: I actually woke up last Tuesday very nausau and threw up all day. Got better on Wed. Then Thursday night began to feel nauseau again and with lower stomach cramping

Then into this weekend I've just had the feeling of mild nauseau and lower stomach cramping.

I went to the doctor last week........he said there is a stomach bug going around but since I"ve had these symptoms for 3 weeks........he did some blood work including a blood pregnancy test (but, I'm pretty positive I'm not pregnant)

I'm so so scared..............does anyone know what could be going on........I"m so scared.

My doctor said if the blood work does not show anything he is going to order a abdominal ultrasound.

thanks friends,

bunny,
do you think it could be a problem with your intestional tract.a lot of icers have probs with that. also do you have pain? and where is it? it could be endo. although it sounds more like intestional probs(irritable bowel ) with the nausea and other symptoms. good luck i hope you can get it figured out soon.

when i am sick with a virus, or just "under the weather," i get that frequent feeling of nausea and cramps as well which lasts above and beyond a normal course. i think it could be IBS (diagnosed '00), like the post above says, or a flare up of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction--spasm of the pelvic floor, very very common with IC'ers. In fact, I've heard that you can't have one without the other (no IC w/o PFD and vice versa). Physical therapy has really helped me. If your IC is "mild," you might want to check out a PT consult for Pelvic Floor assessment, so you can ensure that you aren't tensing the wrong abdominal/pelvic muscles to prevent that urgency sensation.
