Had mine done on 8/8/96..a day after I had sharp pain in my groin & bladder... I had a prostate & bladder infection..My DR put me on vicodin & antibiotics..& week later..I was still having bladder pain..The anti-biotics gave me anotherbladder infection..So I took a anti virual medication, which got rid of my infection, but gave me chronic tonsilitis, by reducing my immune system..A month later I started having pain associated with IC that I never had prioir to the Hydro...So now, I'm on pain meds..It wasn't all bad..I am going less & only have the, bladder feels full after urinating feeling only during flair ups which are infrequent..

A lot of people use hydros for a treatment and it helps them greatly.. There are a few of us that just cause us alot of pain, and get no relief.. I am assuming that you have been dx'ed with IC. have they put you on any other types of meds besides pain pills?

Yes.. 8/29/95..Stanford Hospital.. My DR had me on about 7 in a 5 month period..All just made things worse..This was before the Hydro.. The only thing that works for me now is pain pills & prelief..

There are many medications that might help you feel better. If you've opnlyi tried seven, you've barely scratched the surface. Are you seeing a urologist regularly for treatment? Are you following an IC diet? The Patient Handbook (see link at the top of this page) has diet information, as well as information on many different treatment options.

Sending healing thoughts,
Donna

Usually I'm doing pretty good..It's only bad during flair ups which isn't often..I urniate about 10-12 times a day now, normally.. I know what fods not to eat..Oddly enough, half the foods on the list don't bother me...Minus a lot of the problems the hydro caused it helped in certain areas along with the prelief..
