I have had 2 rescue instills so far. The rescue instill is heparin, lidocaine and sodium bicarb. The first instill I was uncomfortable afterwards bladder felt achey and irriated. Then 24hrs after the instill I felt great. The 2nd instill I did not get any relief from since I was already flaring and started my period the next day.
The day after my first instill I noticed my lower back was itchy, at the time I thought it was maybe bug bites. A few days later I noticed a few more rash spots on my lower back. They are red patches of dry looking skin and the skin is flaking white in the middle of the rash. After my 2nd instill I noticed a few more rash spots on my stomach. The rash is slightly itchy and is only on my lower back and stomach and I have 1 spot on my arm. My skin feels like it is crawling and has a pin pricking sensation all over.
Yesterday I went for my 3rd instill. I mentioned the rash to my Uro he was pretty puzzled and said he has not seen anyone break out in a rash from the rescue instill that I am receiving. He did not say it was impossible, just that He had not seen it before. He said the rash looks like Psoriasis. I told him I have never had Psoriasis before. He wants me to wait 2 weeks before my next instill to see if the rash disappears and then reappears after my next instill.
My question is has anyone experienced a rash from a rescue instill? It may just be a coincidence.

It may help if you haven't already done this, but look back threw all the rescue treatment threads and the dmso threads since rescue treatments boards are still a bit new you may find more info. threw the dmso boards. Good Luck hon please post when you find out the answers.
sending you hugs and prayers

It sounds like you may have an allergy --- I really think you should see your doctor. If the rash is all underneath your clothing, it could be from your laundry soap. I had a similar kind of rash and discovered it was from a liquid detergent I had just started using.

Thanks Donna! You maybe right. I have made an appointment with a Dermatologist for this coming week. My daughter does have Eczema and has had it since birth. She has it now as a teenager 14. Her Eczema is mainly on her face back and arms. Her arms are so severe she wears "hoodie" jackets to cover her arms. My rash does not look like Eczema, but it could be some other form of an allergy.

I went to the Dermatologist today about the rash. She said it was not a allergic reaction to anything. She said the rash is due to a virus. The virus is called Pityriasis Rosea (see definition below).
Pityriasis rosea is a rash of unknown cause which lasts about six weeks.
It may be set off by a viral infection but does not appear to be contagious. It is not related to foods, medicines, or stress. It most often affects teenagers or young adults ages 10-35.
A single scaling patch (the Herald Patch) often appears one to twenty days before the general rash. Then smaller scaly patches appear every few days, mainly on the trunk but may spread to the thighs, upper arms and neck.
Pityriasis rosea usually avoids the face, although sometimes a few spots spread to the cheeks. The oval patches follow the line of the ribs like a fir tree. They have a dry surface and may have an inner circlet of scaling.
At least I now know it was not a rash from the rescue instills. Now I can continue with the rescue instills this week. Thank god because I am having a huge flare.

thank you Judy for posting what you found out. I'm sure this will be helpful to someone else down the road if a rash happens to them they can ask there Dr to check for this.
hope that is clears up quickly for you, and pray your installments do great wonders in helping you find remission.

Thanks Sandra! It is a weird rash I'm just at ease now knowing it's not a big deal. After being diagnosed with Endo and IC I guess I get a little paranoid about things like that.
Thanks Rhonda! I'm hoping the Rescue instills will put my IC in remission!
Take care,
Judy

Judy - it's good that you found out what the rash was. I was going to ask if you were on any other meds besides the instills. You can always be allergic to some medication or even something in the instill. Pyridium makes me itchy all over.
