Redding/Chico

Hi all! I haven't posted in ages... but have recently missed the contact. Anyone out there from the Redding/Chico area in NorCal? I just found a good urologist and would love to share the info should anyone be looking.

Wow! I have family that lives in Chico. I lived there for about 6 months at one time. MY family used to go there in the summer for vacation. WE would all swim at a place called 5 mile. Is "5 mile" still there?

Hi! :) Good to hear from ya!

Yup, 5 mile is still there, though it's not the same as it was when I was growing up (in the late 80s, early 90s). Then it was much deeper, but I believe there was something in the water that was making people sick and for some reason or other, the water level is now kept much lower there. There are other great swimming spots still though, including the 1-mile pool and some great swimming holes in the upper part of Bidwell Park. I moved from Chico to Redding last year for work, but my family is still in Chico so I'm down there a lot.

It looks like you're from Sweet Home.... I spent a year in Corvallis at OSU in 1999-200. Loved it there... What a beautiful area!! :)
