I am having a horrible time with urgency...worst ever I think??? Feel like I have to go constantly and I know that I don't...it doesn't help that my anxiety levels are sky high but I don't know what to do. I have been taking my oxybutinin and attarax but they don't seem to be helping.....any suggestions? I have been laying down with a heating pad but that isn't even helping. I am going crazy!!!!!

Hi,
Sorry to hear that your flaring. Did you eat something that was irritating or do you think it's just the stress? I know this may sound crazy, but when I'm in a flare I actually try to drink more water than usual. This dilates the urine and while it will make you go to the bathroom for a while I find it eventually helps to sooth my bladder. Because if your urine is too concentrated it will cause that urethral burning that makes you feel like you gotta go constantly. Also when I feel like I have to go all the time I take ibroprofen (usually 3) and that helps within a half hour or so. It gets rid of the burning for me and relaxs my bladder. You might also want to try a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water....sometimes that can help soothe your bladder. Also, I actually like to apply cold to the area rather than hot...hot doesnt seem to help for me I think the cold reduces inflamation when I'm in a flare.
Good Luck! Hope you feel better, :grouphug:

Not crazy at all. I also drink more water when my symptoms are bad. If I'm going to have pee all the time it is much more comfortable for me to have something to pee out. :bonk:
