One of my daughters-in-law is a quilter and invited me to do a "block of the month (BOM)" on the internet with her. I have now made the first of the BOM blocks. There's a slide show at http://gallery.ppwp.com/gallery/slideshow.php?set_albumName=RCTQ-2006-2007-BOM that shows 21 pictures of blocks made by different people.
Mine is the one with dal*****ns --- If you have time to peek at, I'd love to hear what others think of it.

Lovely! What a great idea. :)
Reminds me of my grandmother (who sadly passed in January). She used to be an avid quilter before arthritis prevented her from using the needle -- we still have several of her wonderful quilts with us.
They are really great fun to make, look at, and keep as souvenirs :)

:) I love what you did Donna, I like the red in the middle with the dalmations surrounding, very effective!! I really like the look of quilts, but I'm terrible at sewing.

WOW, they are all beautiful, I am very partial to the Hawaiin print one, very unusual, also because I love Hawaii.

Hey I just found your post Donna, sorry to take so long to comment on the wonderful blocks. How many have you done now and are they going to be joined into one quilt?
Had you done any patchwork before this?

Donna,
Your star block looks very good. Be careful, quilting can take over your life - it has mine. (Not to mention two rooms of my house.) Hopefully you'll be showing us your first finished quilt soon! Mary

Very nice I love the colors you put together with it.
Like Jen my grandmother loved to make quilts and I have several that she has made. One she called a doll quilt I have had for over 30 yrs now. It is my favorite. She only made 2 one for me and the other for my cousin.
I love it Donna! I started quilting last year and love it. I don't have the time for it now like I did then but it is a very rewarding hobby.
