I am a resident of Baltimore and currently researching demand for a support group in the metropolitan area. Please let me know if you would be interested in attending (location for the meeting is still not established) and if not, you can shoot me an e-mail anytime and we can converse via the ICN.

I was diagnosed with IC in Dec 2000 and will be participating in the BCG trials currently being held at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Toby Chai is the head urologist researching IC there. I've done quite a bit of research and have found this site to be the most informative yet!

I'm excited to here from more local ICers. I have not heard of any support groups in MD/DC area. I know of one in Virginia. There is a fibromyalgia group in Shady Grove that I've been invited to, yet I haven't because of family/work commitments and especially being physically drained in the afternoon. I do welcome any email from you all.

I got information about the BCG Trail in Baltimore through NIDDK. I just got started on Elmiron in FEB.(got diagnosed in Dec.w/IC) and I'm on active duty; I did not want to have comflicts with the Navy. I am contemplating on getting the Interstim implant. The test went well with an average of 9 to 11 voids.

As far as support groups go....before I found this site I started trying to create my own...it's not quite finished yet, so I could change some of the focus towards more of a MD-DC-VA support web site. Check out http://www.theangrybladder.com - It has a forum, but it's lonely since there's nothing actually there yet.... rolleyes.gif
