Here's a funny fish story. At least it's mostly funny. Last Friday my husband brought home a fish that he caught while fishing and put it in a tank that he had picked up. I've been very specific that I didn't want fish, really didn't want fish, didn't want fish. Did I mention that I didn't want fish? So Friday night he leaves for National Guard drill for the weekend, and I asked what I was supposed to feed the fish while he was gone. He said, "I don't know. I guess you'll have to buy some fish food." The little fish didn't eat anything all weekend long, and Sunday night he agreed that he would take the fish back to its home on Thursday when he wasn't working.
Wednesday morning I went into the kitchen to get the cat and myself some breakfast, and the fish was on the floor dead. The tank had cutouts in the back of the lid (maybe this is normal- I never had fish), and somehow the fish must have launched himself out of the tank. He committed suicide! The sad part is that if he had waited 24 hours, he would have been back home.
Hopefully there will be no more fish. And fortunately the cat left the fish alone. He's in the garden now.
