cysto/hydro positive surgery!!!

i had my first cysto/hrdro done on the 21st and it was a GREAT sucess!!! I just wanted to share this with everyone who is nervous or scared about getting it done.....they put you to sleep and when you wake up you're not in pain!!! I was afraid my bladder would be killing me and in pain and it was just numb....it was GREAT!! It did hurt for the first 48hrs when i went to the bathroom but i just breathed through it and the pain would be gone in 10-15 mins!!! So if your doctor suggests it i say go for it.....it really can't make it worse! :woohoo:

I am happy for you too!! I also hope this will give you relief for months. Did your doc tell you what your bladder lining looked like, were you given a picture of your bladder lining? I ask this because my family now has a better understanding of what IC is after I showed them the picture and explained the disease. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers...LL

That's wonderful. :) I will caution that some people do flare for a few weeks afterwards - I did, but it is VERY good to hear the positive stories here as well. Sometimes we only hear the more difficult hydro stories so thank you for posting about your experience. :)

Thanks for sharing your success with us! I am having mine done a week from tomorrow, although I am also having some work done to my uterus, so I expect to have abdominal pain from that.

I got my cysto/hydro and trigger point infections yesterday (for my PFD) it was alot easier then I thought. I was sooooooooooooo nervous but all the doctors were super cool and I dont remember much. I did not have lots of pain when I woke up just soreness. Last night was a little rough cause I kept going pee every 15 to 20 min (Is that normal) and there was blood. But I think that that is slowing down. I feel today really sore and super tired. I did not want to go to sleep at all when I got home from the hospitol I wasnt that tired. But I get to make up sleep today. I got a copy of my pictures and my bladder really shows signs of the IC. I need to make a follow up to see what happens now. My uro has already started me on the elmiron for two weeks now so I am assuming that will stay the same.

Yes bleeding after hydro is totally normal.....mine only lasted a day and was very very minimal but i don't have a bad case of IC. Peeing every 10 mins is also super normal as well....just remember the more water you drink the less painful peeing will be!!

I havnt seen pictures or anything yet....i have to go back on tuesday and we will come up with a treatment plan from there and also pain management.

I did notice that at about a week after my cysto/hydro that i had some awful Ic pain...that peeing razerblades feeling came back and it freaked me out.....but i was reassured when several people told me it was normal!
