learning to play electric Guitar

I was wondering if anyone plays the guitar? I am just starting to learn. I have my first guitar I am so excited to learn to play.

Kiyoka, I played the guitar many many years ago and my 17yr old daughter plays the guitar and bass.She is in a band already and have just recorded their first song..(all amateur of course!) Hahhaaaa I'm just the money bags that has to fork out for all the equipment and lesson. But I really do love it!

Two of my kids play classical guitar. I really loved listening to them when they were learning. They don't play very often any more. :(

Hi Kiyoka, What a good activity to take up?! My b/f plays, and has for many years. He's real, real good (not that I'm biased or anything, huh?). He gets into it so much it's like meditation for him. When I tell him about meditation, and how it makes it me feel, he says that playing the guitar does the exact same thing for him!
He just read this just now on his way out the door to work..and offered this too
-that he can zen anything out while he's doing it (pretty much what I just said above)
-that there's a great rewarding feeling when you accomplish something you have been trying to learn, like a new technique or sound that you're trying to reach.
Congrats to you, I hope you really enjoy it! You'll have to write a song about IC, and play it on here for all of us!!!
