View Full Version : Scrapbookers - keep showing your stuff! ;)
I madee a thread identical to this last night, but it must have gotten lost in cyberland during the switchover. Anyway, the old thread was getting mighty big, so I thought new, slim version might be nice.
Here is the page I did yesterday:

Good idea to start a new thread Kim.
I've been busy scrapping and have done a few more pages of Campbell's album. So far he's pleased with the outcome. I've promisedhim that I won't embarrass him too much!

Oops! Just noticed that I left the caboose off the train!
The carriages are picking up some important piece of his life as it progresses through the pages.

:) Great pages Ro, I love the way the trains run all the way through the album, I'm sure your boy must be really pleased!
I just done a page on tim, I've kept it simple, for some reason I don't like the really busy pages like you see in some scrap mags, I think it takes away from the photo, here we go,http://static.flickr.com/41/133904532_522f109e61.jpg
My sons are big Gameboy fans, too. I have a similar photo of Jacob opening his at a birthday party. :)
How old is Tim now, Martha? I've been playing catch up on a lot of my old photos, too. :)

:) hubbie made me 2 shelves ( they look like drawers without a front) for my scrapping paper, 1 for patterned paper and the other for just coloured paper, I had trouble finding something my paper would fit in properly, as you can see that problem is solved, ....sorry about the mess! hahaahttp://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c328/sheebah/mumsphotos265.jpg

:) Thanks Sharon, it's nice to know non- scrappers have look at this thread too, I have been interested in scrapping for some time now, and I am getting a bit more confident with showing my work, I have a couple of albums with babypics of my kids, I done them a few years ago and I have to start all over again, .... lets say they are not to good for public display, :biglaugh:

Hahahaa!! Sharon How cool of you to spot the Enterprise!
Campbell, Hilary and I are crazy mad Star Trek fans.. my poor husband just doesn't get it!....
Its nice of you to pop in and check out the crafting threads. We get caught up in making all this stuff, its pleasing to know that it is giving some others a bit of fun too.
And Martha, your pages are very effective. What is the small oiece in the bottom centre? Is that Tim's birth notice?
MarthaB

:) Ro, this is the piece at the bottom of tim's page you asked about,

:) that's a lovely page Kim, I love those pics!! ...did you print the words ''camping'' and then cut them out??
No, I dry embossed a brown paper with a wood looking pattern. Then I cut it into log shapes and pieced it together. I made the tent, too! :)
Did you run ribbon through your frames? Like, did you make holes and weave the ribbon through? It's pretty. :)
MarthaB
04-25-2006, 03:20 PM
:) thanks Kim, the paper came already with the holes punched out, I usually buy a scrap pack with a variety of papers, and that one was in it, I came up with the idea with the ribbon, ( i love ribbon, and buy new ones every week), I weaved it through and I think it looks effective, ........Kim you will have to give me some scrapping lessons, I love your work!! :)

KimI really like the comments along the right hand side od the page 'eat doritos, drink juice' hahhaa very cute. Your pages jump right out at you, great stuff.
Martha you are barreling ahead withall your pages. Have you decided on an album for them yet?
I'm still podding away but I have to pack it all away this weekend as my sister-in-law is visiting from Qld.I had been determined not to clean up the mess until I had finished.Oh, you know what they say about the plans of 'mice and men'
MarthaB
04-26-2006, 07:23 PM
:) No, I'm still getting more pages together, I have 2 albums for both the kids I started years ago, and I decided to do the pages again, at that time I really didn't have many supplies, so I had to do with what I had, and scrapbooking supplies here were very limited, now it's totally different we can get anything we want, we are right up there with the rest of the world, :woohoo:

Well, I haven't been on the boards much lately but I have still been scrapping away. I have nearly finished my son's album with just this year and the covering pages to go.

I could only find one photo for 2004, so I opted for playing around with photoshop. actually, I had taken many pictures but a pc crash had wiped them out. I now take more care to save them to an external drive.

Rosalie...You are such a clever girl. Good it was to see my old friend, Yoda. :) Looks like the Enterprise is still tagging along. Hey, was that Stitch who climbed aboard? :) :) :)

Thanks Shaz (hope you don't mind me calling you Shaz...In Aus, any girl called Sharon is, sooner or later , Shaz !)
The little yellow creature is Pikachu from the Pokemon series. He does look a bit like Stitch. Campbell was as great a fan of Pokemon stuff as anybody..The number of trading cards I bought over the years!

Kim, that pumpkin page is gorgeous. What handsome boys you have there. Did I spot a redhead? And I love those decorated pumpkins. But I have to ask what do you do with them after Halloween? Do they end up roasted for pumpkin soup?
Thank you, Rosalie. This year the pumpkins sat on our front porch waaaaay past October and actually were about soup by the time we got rid of them! Not soup anyone would want to eat, though! ;)
How is your son liking those layouts - has he seen them???? I bet it's fun for him. (BTW - My oldest son is a huge Pokemon fan - loves Pikachu! :) )

I love the new pages. They really tell the story..What a red-letter day!
Campbell has been approving the pages as I do them..So far, he is pleased. He especially liked the idea I had for the last few. With the birthday invitations, I also included 'train tickets'..his theme is "21st Birthday Rail Gala".. exactly what that means ..I don't know....Anyway the guests are to write a birthday message on the tickets and hand them to him on the night for validation. These will make up the last pages in the album...hopefully LOL

Thanks Kim, I hope it all works.
You said your son likes Pokemon, how old is he? They don't seem to grow out of it. Are you still buying the trading cards?
My daughter Hilary was into it all for a while(probably just because her brother was) but some years back sold all her cards and made enough money to buy the 'Spice Girls Doll' that I had refused to fork out the money for!
LOL They just move from one "obsession" to another, huh? ;)
Jacob is 8 and Matthew is 5. They both like Pokemon (and Yu-Gi-Oh), but Jacob moreso than Matthew. In fact, Jacob was just on the phone with his friend and they were each cruising the Pokemon website as they chatted about it. LOL He's got lots of cards scattered about the house. I'm sure you're familiar with that!

Kim, I do indeed know about the 'Scattered' style of home decoration!
Our decor has gone from Pokemon, to lego, Thomas the Tank Engine, Transformers, Turtles(of the mutated teenage variety),Electric trains, My Little Ponies, Cabbage patch dolls, Care bears,Stuffed anuimals of every shape size and hue, saxophones, sheet music, electric guitars and basses and with at lot of these things, and assortment of attachments, gizmos and spagghetti bundles of electrical adaptors, wires, cords, leads and gaffer tape!
Hmmmm, I know I must have left stuff out, but my head is starting to hurt from conjuring up images of the many and varied decors that have adorned parts of and at times my entire house.

Rosalie...There is a saying here in the States, "You can call me anything as long as it's not late for supper". I never liked my name because there wasn't a cute nickname for it here. I guess I should have gone to Australia.
Pokemon???? We missed that phase. Son was too old when that began.
Kim...I love the page. Boy do I remember teaching my son to ride. He kept yelling, "Don't let go, Mom. Don't let go". What he didn't know was that (after several tries) he had been doing it without my help while yelling that. When he rode back (without me holding on), he was actually angry that I had "let go". :shake:
LOL, Sharon. That all sounds very familiar. :)
Here's my latest (pictures are from 2003):

Bumping up for new scrapbookers! :)
First of all, I love the layouts I've seen here! So amazing! I am still rusty but would love to post some stuff, but I have no idea how to here. I am so computer challanged! Still not sure how I managed to graduate from college...but that's another story! :lmao:
Thanks for the help!
The website I use is www.flickr.com You can upload your photo there and then link to it in your post. If you get some uploaded there and need help getting them into a post let me know. :)
