:welcome:
I am so sorry first of all for your pain and conception difficulties........
I have been there!
Trying to conceive with my daughter, now almost 9, was very difficult. It was before my IC diagnosis but in the midst of endometriosis.......
it took 8 months almost.........
I had always had UTI's and female problems but it was only until recently, March 27th that I had my surgery and was diagnosed IC........
I found a wonderful dr. and he has helped me tremendously..........
Pain? Heres what he did and I hope there maybe something I say that might help you...........
First off, sex was dreaded because the pain was so horrible that I can not even describe which led to the emotional rollercoaster of needing to full fill the intimacy with my husband and not being able to. This realy had an affect of our marriage because at that time according to all the drs. there was no reason for my pains........
Well when I met the dr. that I know God placed in my pathway he planned the surgeries and one was the cystop and the other laproscopy.......during which he lasered a lot of scar tissue that was also the culpret to most of my vaginal pain during sex........He also, prior to surgery showed me some vaginal massage therapy that my husband could do prior to sex to help relax the muscles. He said that due to fear of pain I tightend those muscles and over a period of yrs those muscles were tense and tightend all the time now........I had to loosen up my ffears, emotions and muscles and let go. What a job! It was like telling me to go the a horror house singing mary had a little lamb or something.......
Anyway since my surgery......it had been 7 weeks or so that we had intercorse with the prior pain and post op healing process.....so needless to say the first time was very fearful as I didnt know what to expect and by this time I had been on my meds for 4 weeks and had those scar tissues lasered. Anyway let me just say that while I still muscles that had to be treated through the therapy he showed us when my husband touched me the first time it was like he wasnt touching me at all..........it was a miracle and I knew that moment the lasering of the scar tissue took care of the majority of the pains.........there were two muscles one on each side of the vaginal wall that had to be relaxed and with the therapy shown to us we were able to accomplish this relaxation and sex for the first time in a very long time PAIN FREE...........amazing ! :woohoo:
I told my husband I felt like sending my dr. a dozen roses :)
I would love to tell you and anyone else interrested in knowing the massage techinque. Just let me know and I will post it.......its not a medical procedure and might not help but worth a try and the decription is not bad.
I was scared of it and a little imbarressed but honestly its great and we had fun with it too........ending results were a miracle......
This is a no cost procedure you and your mate can share and have fun with and it is the easiest way to get a handle on the pain and can save a lot of dr. visits and emotional torment.
My dr. said if it didnt help they would do injection into those muscles to help relax them.......I said no- way.......we can make this option work.
Once again I hope something I have said here might help you or others out there with the same questions but I do believe that part of the abilitly to conceive is also promoted by our ability to relax and let nature take its corse without stress........
Good luck to you and God Bless you

Mothergoddes,
Did you by chance see the post I wrote to you the other night? If you didn't there are some great sites to check out regarding the issues you discussed. I wanted to reach out to you because I have been there myself.
It can take some time after the Depo shot to concieve. It took us a year before we went to a Reproductive Endocrinologist and then it took us 2 more years before we went as far as Fertility Shots and then we stopped.
Don't be too discouraged. It could still happen for you! It just may take time. If you go 6 months more and it does not happen, you many want to call your primary care doc or OBGYN and talk about what is happening. They will most likely run some tests to see how your hormones are working and if everything is all balanced out. Sometimes we don't have enough progesterone and it can cause trouble in getting pregnant and staying pregnant. There are many links on here that can give you information on hormones and IC. They are under the ICN Patient Handbook Under the Title: Living with IC - Women"The bladder is very sensitive to hormones." The information is about the following and is very helpful in learning about IC and hormones:
P2P: Managing IC by G&A Sandler
Hormones
Menstrual Cycles
Menopause
Pregnancy Journal
Dr. Elizabeth Vliet on Hormones and IC
IC Hormones, Menopause & Perimenopause
Here is the link the to the main page: http://www.ic-network.com/handbook/
If you would like info about sexual intercourse you can also look under that page. Regarding a more comfortable sexual experience , these links could help

There are books at the ICN shop that are also helpful:
http://icnshop.com/cgi-bin/ustorekeeper.pl?command=goto&file=Romance_Books.html
There is a message board on here too that dicusses hormones and IC.
If you want to have a baby there are limited medications they will let you take. Your Fertility Doc, ONGYN, Urologist, or High Risk Specialist will discuss what is ok for you to take or not to take while you are pregnant.
If your IC is reallly bothering you, you may want to wait a few months to see of your hormones level off and the IC gets under control. Some women get better and go into remission while they are pregnant with IC. It's still a mystery as to what hormones have to do with IC. I will never quite understand it.
I hope some of this informtion helps you out as you go through your ferility journey. We will all be here for you when you need us.
I went through it for 3 and 1/2 years.
Sending a more comfortable lifestyle ahead for you and your Husband and Baby Dust to you!
Hugs, :grouphug:
