Hey all,
Having a nasty flare right now -- I'd been doing pretty darn well for a while now, so it's especially annoying that I'm flaring NOW. My period is due tomorrow and of course, that always sets me off. UGHHH. Plus, I'm probably stressed out, since we are having a party on Saturday night, and 20 people RSVP'd, so I am busy cleaning. Hubby did the vacuuming (a task that causes an insta-flare for me) but I guess I may have overdone it in other areas.
In addition I am just getting over my first vaginal yeast infection in a while (I hadn't had one for like 6 months!) -- finished the meds for that about a week and a half ago. I thought all was well with that, but this morning my mouth felt funny, and sure enough, there it was -- THRUSH. Seems the yeast has moved from my vagina to the roof of my mouth. Guess it's back to sucking on Nystatin tablets for a while *sigh* I HATE YEAST.
Well, it's off to the pain clinic for me today, too -- guess they'll get to see me in full-on flare mode today!!! Also, I had my records regarding my wrist problems (tendonitis) sent to them, so we will see if pain management can manage that pain as well....
Hope everyone ELSE is having a pain free day!!! :)

Hope you start feeling better soon! :grouphug: Sounds like you need to give your body a break (even for a day) so it can rest and recuperate. If worse comes to worse, throw all the clutter in closets! ;) You want to feel your best since you're holding a party!

Jen, flares totally suck. And I hate the total house cleaning involved when you are expecting people.
So since you are flaring, kick back tonight and take a few minutes for yourself...... take a couple Prelief, run a hot bath and drink a glass of wine. You need some relaxation and well, since you already are hurtin' maybe you can enjoy the sedating effects of the wine!

I'm so sorry Jen! I think it's stress. Can you take something to mellow you out a bit? Stress still gets me. If I take a small dose of ativan it helps a little. Happy to hear Hubby is helping out.
I hope you feel better soon. :) Please let us know how you make out.

I know the feeling, exactly! We have family that were passing thru town last week to attend a funeral. So they stopped here for 1 night, so of course, I had to clean house like a manic for that visit. Now, they are due back tonight to stay for 4 more days with us!! So, the house was already messed up again, so I had to clean everything again! I am dreading their arrival, and cant wait for them to leave! There are 5 of them. (2 are teenagers, plus a 2 year old). I am hurting too. Plus, I dropped off a urine sample yesterday, and I have another UTI! Anyway, I know how you feel, obviously! I hope you get to feeling better soon, and are able to enjoy your party Sat nite. Hugs, Amy

:) Yeah, I take Klonopin (like Ativan) if I get over-stressed. I'll probably take one later on tonight, although I may be out and my insurance won't refill it for a few more days.
BUT at least I found out at the pain clinic today that they got my records regarding my wrist, and they ARE going to treat it in addition to my IC. I KNEW they would do something; other than my uro, my PM doc is the best. She increased my pain meds temporarily and a week from today, I'm having a fluoroscopy-guided injection in there. That way they will be able to see the extent of the damage, inject lidocaine into the nerves to numb it, and then do a steroid shot, which will hopefully help ease the inflammation. PM doc was shocked that my other doctors had not done anything about it other than give me some anti-inflammatory samples which didn't work -- she said that after the first one or two anti-inflammatories didn't work, they should have done an injection (instead, I was given four anti-inflammatories in a row, and they tried to give a fifth but I refused to take it since I was having sooooo much heartburn after being on all the others).
Here's hoping that it hasn't gone on so long that I will need surgery to fix it as a result of those boobs.

Hey ihurttoo -- gosh, your family sounds like my husband's side. It seems like someone from his side is always visiting, so no sooner do I finish cleaning up from the last visit, another group of them says they're coming to see us!!! It can be very stressful especially if I am hurting at the time... if I'm in pain, everything goes so much slower, then I panic I won't get it done, which makes the pain worse, and we have a vicious circle!! :shake:

Jen, do you think your flare is tied in with your period and the yeast infection? The reason I am wondering is I am also having a flare - the first in many months, and I've been very stressed this last week over a big IC pain episode I had (and getting a dr to give me something for it) now I'm expecting my period any day, and I also have a yeast infection! (am treating it to) Fun!
Thats just interesting its sounds so like my flare!

Don't over-do it, Jen! I know all too well how much extreme cleaning can hurt! I do it every time! I guess I should practice what I preach. I hope you feel better soon & have a great party.

Janice --
Oh, I am sure the period and yeast are not helping matters -- I always feel worse around my period, and of course, yeast increases the burning down there. So all that, combined with too much activity, work, and stress over the party is causing everything to be even worse. But yes, I too also flare with yeast and periods, although this time is by far worse than the last couple times...
Karma and Donna -- thanks for the hugs :) Here's some back :grouphug: and I hope everyone is having a great day so far :)
