Hi there,

I've decided to go through with this.

I am interested in knowing about recovery. How was your recovery? What does the pain feel like when you wake up? Does it feel like you had a c-section but only in your back? Does it hurt to have wires sticking out? Did they send you home with pain meds?

My doctor said no bending for two weeks. What about sitting? Am I allowed to sit on the toilet? lol. Is the trial period so fragile that I can't ride in the car? I speculate that there is no straining with constipation? Should I keep my vacuum hose in the bathroom (just kidding).
Thanks!
Susan

Hi yes it is painful to a point but not as severe as a c-section. You can sit an dyou can ride in the car. I suggest a mushy pillow for the car. The wires are not uncomfortable just annoying. You can bend from the knee's down and get thing. Good Luck will answer any ???? you have. *i was given pain meds and antinitoics and actually my interstim corrected my constipation (go figure)

Good luck. My recovery period was quite painful but I had complications. I was sent home on pain meds and antibotics . I hope you have a easy and low pain recovery.

Like Leslie stated yes it painful to a point, but not as bad a c-section. The wires are for sure more annoying than anything else. Sitting is fine and so is riding in a car. Mine did not want me to drive, but riding was fine. You can bend with your knees just dont pick up stuff and be careful going up and down stairs should you have them. When I woke up in the recovery room I knew right away mine was working because for the first time in 5 yrs I did not have that "I GOTTA GO" feeling.

You should be sent home with pain meds and antibotics to prevent infection where the wires are. Also be carefully when showering not to get the wires wet. When I showered I stayed as far back as I could and I washed my hair in the sink with the help of my hubby.

Good luck and I hope you have good results with yours.
