Can any of you that have had success with Elmiron tell me if it helped the burning and symptoms of vulvodynia at all. Thanks-

Unfortunately, for me personally the Elmiron did not help with the burning and symptoms of vulvodynia. I've even wondered if it made it a little worse. I'm seeing an increase in irritable bowel symptoms which I believe may have something to do with the Elmiron, and notice that when bowel symptoms flare, so does vulvodynia. On the other hand,The Elmiron has helped my bladder frequency greatly :) .

I think Elmiron did help my vulvodynia, but since I was taking several other meds at the same time I was taking Elmiron, they could have all had a cumulative effect. Hopefully it will help your symptoms too.

Poetgirl,

What do you use for your vulvodynia? In 2004, when I was having such burning and went to ER, I was diagnosed with vulvodynia, but yet even with Metrogel, I still had pain. Later that year, I was diagnosed with IC. I have had a flare with burning or the irritated feeling and I am wondering if it is vulvodynia. I have read that it is difficult to diagnose.

I also see that you are only taking 200 mg of Elmiron. Is that 2x a day? Have you always been on this dosage?

Thanks.
