I think I am getting a yeast infection from macrobid . and I can't use over the counter medicine because it hurts my ic. The problems is my uro prescribed me the macrobid should I call him and ask him for a script for diflucan or should I ask my family dr.?.

I think you could ask either. My doc's are now trained to the point where if they give me an anti, they always ask if I want a script for Diflucan, lol!! ;)

i know how you feel. the dr gave me a script for macrobid (got generic) and two days later i had a yeast infection, instead of being in the vaginal area mine is in my mouth and throat. i went into a panic cause i had "hair" growing on my tongue that covered my whole tongue, cheeks, gums, and the back of my throat. i went to see my doc friday (saw his partner instead) and the doc told me that i needed to continue with the macrobid for the bladder infection and gave me nystatin elixer to deal with the yeast, and 2 other pills to help get rid of both. i didnt get thrush, it went into full fledge yeast of the mouth. i feel for you completely :grouphug: and :kissing:
