It is the first time to use this kind of support/service. I hope I am doing the right thing here.

I am slightly worried about my mum and the recent cystoscopy she had to face. This happened three weeks ago. Ever since she is in serious discomfort. They have already asked her for one urine test, but couldn't find anything. The next one is due next Tuesday. She doesn't want to face under any circumstances another cystoscopy. I have been advised by a doctor I know, that she should ask for a cream using a combination of steroids and antifungal treatment. Not sure. He also said that her age might have something to do with it. She is 52 1/2. She is really worried and as an only child, you can understand that I am concerned too. If anybody has any suggestions or faced the same experience, I would be ever so grateful to get advice. I might use the wrong site for this, but I have never done this before. Please assist me with any information so I can put my mum's and my mind at rest.
Thank you ever so much in advance.

Kind Regards

Miss B

I'm sorry your mom is not doing well. Did she have an in-office cystoscopy or cystoscopy with hydrodistention with anesthesia in the hospital? I know that both procedures can cause a lot of pain. Some people have more pain and a much harder recovery than others after these procedures. Has she been diagnosed with IC? I'm not familiar with steroids or antifungal treatment for IC. Maybe you can give us a few more details so we can understand better what's going on and I'm sure all the ladies will be very quick to offer you advice and support.
You may want to start a thread in the cysto/hydro, not diagnosed yet, or newly diagnosed forums. Those forums have a lot more action... get a lot more views so you can get more and quicker repsonses.
Welcome, and best wishes to you and your mom!

I'm sorry about your mom having a difficult time. I have IC. I had a cystoscopy done in the office and also cystoscopy with hydrodistention with anesthesia done as a outpatient in the hospital. It was very painful for me. I took pain pills and put ice on where it hurts. The pain stayed with me for about a week. Don't know why some people suffer more than others. Maybe some are more sensitive to the test. Hope she is getting better.
