I just got back from my pain mgmt appt. (They increased my morphine from 20mg to 30 mg, and decreased my Lortab 10mg, from 3 a day to 2 a day, to hopefully make me less sleepy. They pushed hard for another nerve block, but I told them I was wanting to try going on Cytotec first, and didnt want to do them at the same time since we wouldnt know which one was working. They asked me why I wanted to go on the Cytotec. So I told them. So they suggested Arthritec instead, since I was already on Diclofenic, and Arthritec is a combo of Cytotec and Diclofenic. So it worked out great, all they had to do was switch me. I wont start up until next week, since that is when my Diclofenic script runs out, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I will be joining you next week. Hugs, Amy

Yay!!! :grouphug: How excellent that you already knew you tolerated the other ingredient, and were even on it already! I hope it helps you, Amy. I keep thinking/saying I think it would or should help ANY of us at least tolerate NSAIDS.

Amy did the nerve block help with your pain at all. I,m thinking of having them done as well. Hope your pain is better controlled with a higher dose. It breaks my heart to see all the meds you are taking for your conditions. I pray you get better.

Thank you,

Marsi4

Marsi, Thank you for your prayers. That is very kind of you. Yes, the nerve block did help. The problem for me is that I had a horrible retention episode for 3 weeks following it, where I could not urinate on my own. I had to cath for almost a month. The pain clinic swears that the nerve block didnt cause this, but since this problem began 3 days after it, and gradually came on and the gradually went away, I still believe that it did. I am just now as of the past week or so, to the point where I am not having the cath to urinate. That is why I dont want to have another one. But, yes, it did help with the pain. I have talked to a few others on here who have had them and most of them got great relief and never had the problems I had. I guess this one is like all the other IC treatments, you're just not going to know how if it will help you without deal breaking side effects until you try it. I hope that it works for you and that you can get effective pain refief and feel better soon! Hugs, Amy
