HI all, just checking in,I had back surgery 12 days ago and wanted to let all now how I am. I am slowly recovering, but have a long way to go and the very realpossibility that I may have to have more surgery. I cannot say for a fact,and neither can my neurosurgeon, but I dony think it is a coincedence that my disc ruptured a few weeks post interstim removal. I have never had back trouble (in fact is the ONE part of me that was healthy) but after months of horrible pain from the stim and a difficult removal, the disc that are exactly where the leads went past ruptured, I dont think it was just bad timing I think the trauma to my spine due to interstim was the main cause. I may not ever be able toprove it, but I want to let all know, be aware of it. Interstim can affect many parts of you that dont hurt before inplant, but may hurt awful after. WE need more research about the effects of interstim on IC patients before it is safe. Ans if you are considering interstim, please do your research, have you tried every other non surgical treatment?
