Well, I haven't posted for awhile as I was doing a bit better. I have been getting SANS (acupuncture) for IC and waiting to see if that would help. If not, I planned to start taking Cystoprotek and then if that doesn't help, move onto possibly Elmiron (or possibly Elavil or Hydroxine...) I seem to have some ok days once my period starts and until I ovulate, but once I get on the other side of my cycle, those 2 weeks building to my period are hard.
Anyway, onto my current new issue. I started having really bad dull pain in my right pelvic area about 4 days ago. Then on Saturday for the first time in my life I had a bit of spotting (my period isn't due for another 9 days.) The pain is something I get often and this time it included a lot of lower back pain (not to be in the past tense, I still have it.) But, I never had spotting also. I almost went to the ER for the pain, but opted to wait. Saw an OBGYN today who said my right ovary did feel a bit swollen, but wouldn't comment much on what that meant. Her pressing on that ovary was very painful. I am to go tomorrow for a ultrasound. She said I should have a vaginal ultrasound as that way I don't have to have a full bladder, but the place said I did need to. 48 ounces held for 1 hour will KILL me. That is WAY above my capacity. Does anybody know about this? All I have read is vaginal ultrasounds can be done on an empty bladder.
Anyway, the ultrasound is to look for cysts etc etc. She also mentioned I could have endometriosis, which just about put me over the edge. I don't have painful periods, but apparantly, you can have chronic pain with that. I really hope I don't have another incurable pain condition... If I do have endo, could that be the cause of my bladder pressure and frequency?I am sorry about all the questions?
On the side, I have a lot of problems with my right hip (well it isn't the hip), but the pelvic area on the right side which is where I am having this pain. I have gotten some relief from this pain from myofascial trigger point therapy. My PT has found an area in my back that refers the pain to the area in the front, and I had FINALLY for the first time in a year gotten some relief. I saw her on Wed when I was feeling pretty well, and we should have left wellenough alone, as the work she did seemed to REACTIVATE this pain. I am starting to wonder if the pain we are treating as myofascial pain might not be endometriosis around the ovary since the ovary seems to be where the pain is. This time the pain is different though, way more intense, more back pain and now the spotting. Also, the pain was only created by walking, putting weight into my right foot etc, but now I have this pain even when I lie down, constant, nagging aching feel. By the way there is no way I am pregnant as I haven't had sex in a LONG time, due to the IC.
Can you help with any of this? I know it is a lot of information, I am feeling really overwhelmed with anxiety at the moment.
I guess first step is to see what if anything the Ultrasound shows with the uterus, ovaries etc etc. Then go from there. If that is negative to explain my pain, then I guess I could try to treatment for Endometriosis which is to suppress ovulation and periods which I really don't want to do!!!!!
