Well i was thinking....Last monday when i had an instill and was bleeding for 18hrs. afterwards that maybe i have ulcers? I only say that because the doctor('s) have no idea why i was bleeding. When i had a cysto in the office over a month ago he didnt see anything other than that my bladder wasnt the usual color and that it was pale....but do you need a hydro to determine if you have ulcers or not?? That was the first time i have ever bled like that from my bladder. What do you think???? Thanks for the help..i seem to need alot of it all of the sudden!!

The bleeding is most likely due to Glomerulations (tiny haemorrhages in the bladder wall), which is very common with IC. If they are stretched, touched by a cystoscope, etc, they can bleed.
If you’re bleeding a lot and it has been going on for days it would be a good idea to contact your uro or family doctor to check for infection
You generally need a hydro for your uro to see the ulcers and you definitely need it done if you want them to remove any that are present

btw, what did you have installed? DMSO may cause bleeding and heparin can also cause bleeding since it's a blood thinner

I went to my obgyn tuesday and had a rescue instill and since then for three days a bleed like crazy and was in horrible pain .. the bleeding finally stopped yesterday but the pain is still their .. i called my doctors and they told me the were not sure either why i was bleeding but it could be from my endometreosis or IC ... i go in on tuesday of this week to have some tests run.
so i feel your pain and this is a first for me to.

It sounds very much like it could be an infection. I have Hunner's ulcers and mine do not bleed. They were cauterized once nearly thirty years ago, but they just come back. I do have some red cells in my urine, but they are only visible when viewed under a microscope.
I do think it's a good idea to be checked to be certain.
