I'm sticking with this and have two questions if it is ok. First, when that wonderful time of the month comes does anyone notice the bleeding to be heavy? I have that problem with clots too so was wondering just how bad the bleeding can get.
2nd quesiton is: Uro put me on 100 mcg once a day. I have no side effects from it at all. Actually, I think it is helping so that i"m not constipated at all anymore. :woohoo: Should I ask him to increase it or see how it does with that dose? He has it for 5 months. Should I be able to tell now if it is going to help?

I have only been on Cytotec a little over a week now, but I was tolerating 100 mg 3 times a day well, though was not seeing much help with the IC pain, so I went to the 200 mg a day without any more side effects. I also notice a huge improvement in my IBS constipation since starting the Cytotec. I would have to say the pain is getting somewhat better but time will tell!

PottyWoman, you got over the birth control hurdle -- that's great!
When did you start?
If you guys tolerate the cytotec and it is actually helping with intestinal/bowel issues, ot sounds like you'll be able to tolerate ibuprofen and nsaids better than before, and also take more calcium or prelief (since you are less consipated now). This is in addition to any help it may actually give you with building up the bladder wall.

Wendy, I've been on this for 1 week now. My Uro was excited about trying it. He has never written a prescription for it but got the ok for this and that topomax from my GP. Not one word was mentioned about the birth control. I'm amazed at no side effects. I haven't tried taking the ibuprofen yet. Maybe will today and see what happens. I wonder if I should increase it? Wonder if I can increase it on my own? Won't see my uro for a few weeks. I'm just really amazed at no side effects. Only a few pills have done that.

PW, I wouldn't change anything until you speak to your doctor. I would hold off on the ibuprofen as well until you've been on this for a while at the does others have been taking. Slow and steady wins the race!

I agree with Wendy --- wait until you talk with your doctor, especially since you seem to be doing well on it.

Yeah, I'll wait to speak to my Uro before taking more. Just thought since I have no side effects that maybe doubling the dose would make it work faster.
I'm not a patient person. :bonk:
