I've had a mild cystocele for about 10 yrs. now along with burning urethra after an hour or two of sitting. I got the bright idea that maybe a pessary would hold the cystocele in place so I could sit for longer periods of time. My gyn tried the smallest O ring which I expelled while walking around her office. Removal HURT! She didn't have the smallest size of a Gerung (sp?), so rather than have her order one, I told her I'd ask about pessary use on this Forum. She said to be sure to let her know if there was any information about this. Standing and walking are not a problem, but sitting and the urethral pain and foot neuropathy which only takes place then is a problem.

Pattibel, I am having a problem with my cystocele too, I am trying to figure out if I should have it tacked up or not, it causes me alot of pressure in my vagina, and I feel like it is going to fall out. My uro told me that tacking the bladder back up in place could make my ic worse, so I dont know what to do right now. Not only do I have to deal with ic flares, I have to deal with the constant pressure from my cystocele. I also tried a pessary one time and I had to have it taken out because it caused me alot of pain. I cant win for loosing. I hope you are having a good day.

I got some PH strips and discovered, no surprise, that my urine was slightly acidic. I then bought some alkalyzing tablets to try to change the PH a bit. And I do take Prelief before attempting half decaf and half hot water (didn't work yesterday!) Also, I'm avoiding foods that form acid. My cystocele is classed as mild. What is yours? When I went to the GYN, she said that a rectocele was easier to fix than a cystocele. Are you doing Kegel exercises? I keep forgetting. Also, when I sit at my computer I make sure to put a pad at the front of the chair so pressure isn't directly on the urethral area but is on the buttocks. I try and fail, then try something else. Sometimes I just throw up my hands and tell myself I'm "normal." Hah! That goes only so far--until a day comes along when the awful burning gets me down. I can stand and walk without pain; it's the sitting that does me in. Do you get burning pain from your cystocele?
