I went and had the test to see if I had IC for sure about two days ago. I wrote about my cystoscopy & hydrodistention test in that area and posted pictures of my IC bladder. My doctor says I have a major case of Interstitial Cystitis. At least I know for sure now. I'm still recovering from the cysto with hydro but then I'll start on the meds. And after that feel better and be able to go to dance classes again and take long walks in the woods this Spring.

Thank you all for your help. From not knowing what IC was to where I am now is good. I'm still scared at times because of the limits of active movements but I'm coming along. Like the little engine that could... I'm comparing myself with a train, lol, maybe it's time for another pain pill. :loco:

Later. :kissing:

:welcome: I want to say welcome to our family. I am so glad that you have a name for your pain but I am also sad that it is IC. :headbang: I have learned that it is here that you can ask anything. There is always someone who has the answer. You can vent and others will really know how you are feeling. I hope that you will starting feeling like an IC sister. I pray that you will find the treatment that is best for you.

I am new here but really looking for friends and I have just been diagnosed as well and I am petrified that there will not be a light at the end of the tunnel. Your possitive attitidue absolutely inspired me, I've been a balling baby for days. Hopefully we can work together to get better. Which stage are you in? I am in stage 2 our of 4.

I don't think that IC has stages??? If it does, this is the first time I have heard about it...

Hey Massagedoula, here's an article on the site from a Doc Q&A session, that adresses the stages/phases :

Hope this helps!! ;)

Thanks so much Tracey for the stages, my gyne said I am in stage 2, I just read that and omg it says 99% of us will never have issues again if we stick it out. Oh do I prey for that.

:welcome: Sorry you have IC but sometimes a diagnosis for those symptoms is an important step to feeling better. :grouphug:

Thanks for the welcome. :welcome: I would like to help support people with IC and help them like the people here have helped me. I cannot say I'm always up-beat, but who is. I'm also on the new side. We can be new together. :woohoo:

Right now thanks to an up-coming menstrual cycle and a little exercise I'm feeling sick and naseas. I have something I have to do on Tuesday so I really want to feel better soon. Because I don't always look sick people question if I am. It makes me mad & up-set at times but I don't let it control me. I already have IC to mess my plans up, I don't need to feed into gossip.

Mom2kk2006 you are welcome! I knew I'd read the article somewhere, but couldn't remember exactly which doc, and I found it on my first try! LMAO!! ;)

And you too are welcom YoungDancer! We are glad to have you! ;) And no worries, once you get "settled" into knowing the ropes of IC and You, what people say or do or don't say, won't be an issue to you at all!! :) :)
