My mom heard about this on the news last night and just showed me the story on the net. thought it may be helpful, possibly even an option for some. the link is:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/04/03/health/main1466809.shtml

if you cant get to it for some reason go to:

www.cbsnews.com and look for the healthwatch section.

hope this is helpful,

Thanks for sharing this! I heard about it from my husband but was skeptical; reading it does give hope, doesn't it?

Hi Laura,I noticed you are from Melbourne,Fl! I lived in Palm Bay for about 22 yrs. I now live in CT but, I moved here 2 yrs ago & I miss Florida so much. I hate cold weather but, I was kind of forced to move here. Anyhow do you like the docs you see in Florida? I had a nice pain dr in Florida named Dr. Jaffe in Melbourne. I was sad to lose him when I moved here. Good docs are hard to come by. Do you have a lot of pain with your IC too or just freq & urgency? I have severe IC pain & my quality of life is very dependant on whether or not I have pain meds. I tried many different treatments & none of worked. I believe I have PFD also now looking @ symptoms of it. I read the study also about the bladder they made in a lab. I think it is great & really hope that someday that may be an option for IC patients. Only thing that worries me the IC would attack the new bladder too. I am not sure if that would happen or not though. Nice to see someone from Melbourne!
