I have not been offically diagnosed with IBS but i am pretty sure i have it.
I have both constipation and diahrea, i have a real hard time going to the bathroom either way i have to push real hard to get it out, i am gassy alot and i have horrible pain when i have to go sometimes it is relieved after i go and sometimes it is not. i also sometimes have to go right after i feel like i am already done ... there are other things to but i dont wont to get into that i feel like maybe it is to much info and i dont want to gross anyone out . i have been to a gastrialintestinal doctor and they scheduled some tests but when i went to get them done at the hospital i couldnt keep the stuff down that they gave me and then the hospital messed up my insurance papers and they had to rescudule the test and then the second test i was suppose to have done i couldt keep that down either it made my really sick so now i am afraid to have the tests run. between the IC and Endo i have already and this on top of it i swear it is enough to drive you crazy. anyone ever have this problem? and sorry about the spelling lol.

I have had IBS for as long as I can remember, with bouts of constipation and diarrhea, mostly constipation, after years of living with it, and me wathcing my diet not helping, I went to my doctor and told him I cant stand it anymore, the gas pains and cramping were killing me from not going to the bathroom, and my butt was killing me also from pushing so hard to have a bm. He gave me Zelnorm, it is a 6mg pill, you take it once or twice a day, depending on the person, I can honestly say that it has been A LIFE SAVER FOR ME, I never knew how nice it was to have a good bm, and not have the bloated crampy feeling, now I go to the bathroom every single day and I feel so much better!!!! Talk to your doctor, they might want you to have a colonospocy---I dont think I spelled that right, sorry. Have you tried eating alot of fiber? I know for me I tried eating alot of fiber, and it still did not help my constipation. Since I have had a bm on a regular basis, I noticed I no longer have the bouts of diarrhea. I hope this helps and you find something that works for you. Take care.

I've posted some other threads asking about what people have tried for IBS. Go on the main board and click on the IBS under Related Conditions to see the threads. Hope you feel better soon! Those gas and cramping pains can really make a person double over. They are miserable.

This is my recipe for getting rid of IBS. I had it for 30 years. What I hated most was cramps in my stomach and always looking for a bathroom whenever we went anywhere. When I started taking "probiotics" the cramps went away. Then I added a product called "fibersmart" by renew life (in capsules). A digestive enzyme called "Absorbaid" by natures sources. I also added "fish oil" and "flax oil". These were all recommended by my health foods store. I no longer have any IBS symptoms, this has worked for me, I feel normal at last! When I first started taking natural things this was what I took for a couple of months before adding even more things like MSM and many vitamins. After 30 years of cramps these products sure made a believer out of me. Anyone with IBS should be drinking lots of water and eating high fiber foods too. Good luck

Does anyone have bloating after they eat? I'm bloating all the time, but its much worse after I eat. My upper stomach swells up like a balloon. Any suggestions how to get rid of this bloating? I heard fennel helps, so I bought some but never took it, because I read that it interferes with asthma.
